DIY: Pacifier Clip and some other links

So I posted a Facebook status which said, "What should I sew next?" and then this guy that served his mission here many years ago said, "you should make something for my baby!" and that's how this post came to mind.

I got really excited about the idea of some early practice sewing for a baby. Because when I have children, I want to make them a lot of stuff. So here I will share with you how to make an easy pacifier clip. I have no idea how to use it, my brothers and I never used pacifiers, and I actually don't even know if this guy is going to have his baby use pacifiers...but whatever, right?

Total disclaimer because I don't want people to think I'm another baby crazy mormon girl: I am excited about the idea of someday having children with the man I will marry. Just not any time soon. I am definitely NOT in a hurry.

What will you need?

  • fabric
  • ribbon (or lace if it's for a girl, these are for a boy so I'm going to stick with regular ribbon)
  • suspender clips

Instructions

1. Cut a your fabric! you'll need one 10 by 2 (inches) rectangle. Leave some allowance.
2. Fold the rectangle in half and sew.
3. Cut excess fabric.
4. Turn the rectangle right side out and press with the seam in the middle

5. Sew down both sides of the strip.
6. Loop the suspender clip on one end of the strip. Fold twice for a cleaner look.
7. Sew to secure.
8. cut a 6 inch strip of ribbon and for the other side of the strip inside.

9. Insert ribbon and sew
10. TA-DA! You have a pacifier clip! Too bad I don't have any pacifiers around here to show you what it looks like, but you get the idea.

I also wanted to share with you some of my favorite baby DIY, these are super easy and would be super fun to try!

I can't wait to make this cute little blanket! with a 49ers back of course, it seems so so easy! I wish I could make it now, but that'd be weird.
This diaper strap tutorial is super easy to follow, great for the beginner seamstress. And it's super cute!
A little tutorial and pdf pattern on how to make your own bib! I feel like I will be using this a lot someday.
Finally, this baby snuggler is my favorite, I just made it for this same couple, can't wait for the little baby to try it. It was straight forward and easy. I loved making it. :)
Here are some pictures of the one I made. cute huh?
