Dog PJs

So Toby gets really cold during the Fall and Winter, specially during the nights. You will often find him hiding under 3 or 4 blankets on a cold winter night, that is why he has many sweaters. Though some dogs don't need sweaters, Toby's coat is a lot lighter than other dogs' so he wears a variety of sweaters during this time of the year. He looks super cute, just look at that face!

Here are some pictures of the final product and some more info on the pattern, and fabric I used.

I've been looking for a pattern to make Toby a pair of PJs for a while, but I haven't been able to find anything that was his size. All regular patterns claimed to fit large dogs but nothing I found was quite working for Toby so in the end I bought a cheap pattern from Walmart and adjusted the pattern to Toby's specific measurements. I was a little nervous because I am not so comfortable making dog clothes, and I really really HATE wasting fabric but it all worked out and the PJs fit him just right! Now he is keeping warm during the cold cold Northern California nights.

Items I used:
Fabric: Anti-pill fleece from Joann's
Pattern : Simplicity A8008 found at Walmart (Modified to fit my mutt)
Dog: Rat Terrier Mix

Doesn't he look adorable?
